Manchester City hammered Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 on Saturday evening, to go 18 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola’s men took the lead in the first half, after Ilkay Gundogan headed in Leroy Sane’s corner kick. Kevin De Bruyne, who eventually claimed man of the match, lashed in a second as City took control in the second half.

Raheem Sterling helped himself to a brace, before Christian Eriksen drilled in a late consolation effort.

The win is City’s 16th consecutive victory in the league.

Arsenal bounced back from their recent woes with a 1-0 win over Newcastle, while Southampton lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace thrashed Leicester City 3-0, Stoke lost 3-0 to West Ham, Huddersfield shocked Watford 4-1 and there were no goals between Burnley and Brighton.
