Romelu Lukaku asks Jose Mourinho to make one signing

Published

Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has reportedly asked Jose Mourinho to sign his brother Jordan from Lazio.
United are in the market for more fresh faces following Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant’s arrivals at Old Trafford.

And Mourinho is eager to land a left-back having been forced to use Ashley Young in that role due to Luke Shaw’s poor form and fitness problems.

Juventus ace Alex Sandro is believed to be Manchester United’s first-choice target to replace Shaw on a permanent basis.

However, it seems Lukaku would rather see Mourinho raid Serie A for another left-back if he is to strengthen his defence.
According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Lukaku has spoken to United about signing his brother Jordan from Lazio.

Lukaku Jr, who turns 24 later this month, is apparently looking likely to leave the Stadio Olimpico.

And that’s because he’s fallen out with Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi, who signed him from Oostende in 2016.

Should United follow Lukaku’s wishes and pursue a deal for his brother, they may end up disappointing West Ham.
The Hammers have been in talks with Lazio for weeks over a move for Lukaku Jr’s team-mate Felipe Anderson.

And it appears the left-back might also have come up in conversation during those meetings.

United, meanwhile, have been linked with a swoop to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

However, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says United are not interested in the Portugal international.
“The representatives from Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid spoke about the situation,” said Balague, as Ronaldo edges closer to joining Juventus.

“They reached a position where he got an offer from – I almost said Manchester United then – but they are not interested at all, they haven’t been involved.

“He will get £30m a year from Juventus and they are willing to pay £100m and no more than that.

“Real Madrid haven’t received that offer yet, but Jorge Mendes has promised it will arrive soon.”
