Barcelona 2 – Malaga 0: Deulofeu and Iniesta goals extend La Liga lead over Real Madrid

BARCELONA extended their lead at the top of La Liga to four points with a comfortable 2-0 win over Malaga.

Gerard Deulofeu opened the scoring after just two minutes in controversial circumstances.

Lucas Digne chased down a loose ball and his cutback was flicked in by Deulofeu with his heel but replays show the ball had already crossed the goal line before the cross came in.

Barcelona engineered more chances to extend their lead with Andres Iniesta dictating the play.

But Malaga carved out their own with Chory Castro missing a huge opportunity when he missed his kick completely at far post.

Andres Iniesta scores Barcelona’s second goal

And he was made to pay early in the second half as Iniesta doubled Barca’s lead in the 56th minute.

Mascherano found Messi with a pass before the Argentine then played in Iniesta and the Spain legend’s shot took a deflection off Roberto Rosales which resulted in it looping into the top corner.

Barcelona tried to extend their lead in the second half but were unable to find a finishing touch.

In the last 10 minutes, Luis Suarez was substituted by Ernesto Valverde and he failed to hide his displeasure, storming down the tunnel.

The win means Barcelona lead Valencia and Real Madrid by four and five points respectively.
